AN ANGEL CONNECTION IN A MOST UNUSUAL SETTING...

Do you believe in Angel Connections? Sometimes, God allows certain events in our lives in order to lift us up and to put the hope back into our lives. These connections can arrive in various ways, most often very unexpectedly....

God's holy angels came to take my Dad to heaven two years ago, this September. Oh how I miss him so. He was the kindest, most loving dad anyone could ever hope for. He had a quiet wisdom which was always right on the mark...and to him, family was everything. We had many special traditions we shared as an Italian family and one of them to to plant tomato plants each season. My heart was especially heavy this year with Father's Day coming up and I reflected about how much fun it was to dig the ground with him, plant the tomatoes, care for them daily and watch them grow into beautiful ripe fruits to share with our family and friends. So, I thought, what the heck, why not plant a couple of tomato plants at his grave-site? I visit there often and we can care for them together. So off I went to make this special purchase.

I drove to the cemetery with my Mom and we lovingly dug the land on either side of his gravestone and planted two prized tomato plants. With happy hearts, we headed home until the next few days, when it was time to water and check on the plants progress. When we arrived at the gravestone, sure enough the plants were doing well! But something very strange was present. Someone had manicured the flowers and sifted bark mulch all in between. It was so pretty...but we surely did not do this nor did anyone in our family.

As I stood there in surprise asking my mom "who would do such a thing"? A voice answered that caused me a shudder, "I did that, I hope you don't mind." There stood before me, a complete stranger who had decided of all the graves in the cemetery, that he would stop at my dad's to care for it.

Well, my goodness, "Who are you? Are you a caretaker for the land?" He responded, "No, I'm not." He told me his name and although it didn't ring any bells, there was something so very familiar about him. He proceeded to tell me that he saw us planting the plants a few days ago and thought it was very sweet. We had experienced a bad storm the night before and he thought to check on the plants for some reason. He told me that he'd lost his wife last year and was heartbroken, and having a hard time recovering. That was the reason that he spent so much time at the cemetery...to be with her. God Bless his heart. I knew the pain of loss and I was dealing with mine as he was with his. We talked for a few minutes and then I asked him his wife's name. Whenever he told me her name, I was shocked and the connection came together for me.

It turns out that his wife was a dear friend of mine who had held 2 Angel Parties for me at her home. (An Angel party is where I am invited into the home to tell my story and my mission with God's holy angels) She loved angels and had so much faith in God. She was a beautiful person. When I told him, he was shocked as well and suddenly gasped and said, "You mean you are the Angel Lady? Oh my God, she loved you and we both know how much she loved angels!" We remembered meeting each other several years ago at their home. Amazing, isn't' it? He was convinced that his wife's love for angels brought us together. I knew he needed some hope to go on. We were able to talk for a while, bringing up fond memories of her. He needed that on that day. I pray that he found some of God's light in his life again by way of this beautiful angel connection.
